What the service provides
To restore function and relieve pain in patients whose neuro-musculo-skeletal system has been compromised by trauma, disease, postural deformity or other pathological process which may result in restricted movement and/or mobility. Therapists aim to restore maximum function through assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, health promotion, education and preventative health-care. Treatment approaches used include manual and manipulative therapies, exercise, acupuncture, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy and education and advice.

Who provides the service
Physiotherapists and extended scope practitioners supported by physiotherapy assistants and administrators and the musculo-skeletal service manager.
Who the service is for
People registered with a west Essex GP and some people registered with specific GP practises in north and east Herts under a service level agreement.
MSK Service sees any patient with health difficulties arising from the musculo-skeletal system, who is referred by a GP from the areas outlined above or by a consultant from the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow.
How can the service be accessed
Referral by health care professional.
Opening hours vary from site to site, but generally start at 8 - 8.30am and finish
at 4.30 - 5pm, Monday to Friday at most sites.
